This week I launched the pre-order campaign for ‘In Rare Earths’, my new action thriller book. It’s been several months in the making since I announced in the summer of 2025 my intention to publish this book at the end of that same year (sigh). In the end, my various projects prevented me from meeting those deadlines, but after several weeks of intense writing, I’ve completed the final draft and can now offer an exclusive, numbered, deluxe edition with my name printed on it to my most loyal readers.
This novel has jumped ahead of the fourth book in the ‘Mark of Odin’ saga on my production list, as I realized in mid-2025 that reality was starting to closely resemble parts of my fictional plot. And in fact, it has become more similar than I thought possible: the capture of Maduro in Venezuela, the purge of the military leadership in China, and the current war in Iran. All these events form part of the fictional backdrop around which the plot revolves. The story follows my beloved Carla Romero, the protagonist I created for ‘The Stone Lotus’. This stubborn CNI agent returns with a story that is far more thrilling, dramatic, epic, and relevant than ever, given the events we are currently experiencing.

With ‘In Rare Lands,’ I’ve decided to give a name to something that had already taken shape on its own: the ‘Dystopian Current Events’ series, in which reality and fiction surprisingly merge. It encompasses my two previous thrillers: ‘The Stone Lotus’ and ‘Yes, They Shall Pass.’
The pre-order campaign will run until March 22nd. As I mentioned, readers can purchase numbered copies with their names printed on them and be included in the book’s acknowledgments.
